Crash and burn. Unwisely carried on training through the week with an upset stomach until Friday when I flopped onto my bed as I couldn’t face an 8 mile run. An awful nights sleep followed as I kept waking up with a high temperature. I slogged my way round 5km at Raphael parkrun then spent the rest of the day in bed.
I was meant to be running the Salisbury 5-4-3-2-1 but no chance of that happening if I can barely drag myself round 5km. Instead I volunteered as a marshal again at junior parkrun this morning but that wasn’t my wisest move either. It’s now time to rest in bed again with no more running activity until I shake this virus.
Trying to bring a bit of positivity into week 3 of Project Mojo:
- Collected my new white Ealing Eagles race vest that I plan to wear at the last Summer League fixture next Sunday
- Received my multi-coloured ‘I Was, Or Am A Runner!’ race vest that I plan to blind people with at parkrun next Saturday
- Volunteering at junior parkrun today was my 25th activity so I should be able to order my parkrun volunteer shirt soon
