Early riser, lunchtime run, The Son sleeps tonight and early to bed.
The jet-lag kicked in and the Running Dan household were all up and about at various times during the time. I slept through until 4:30am to find The Son already up and Mrs Dan heading back to bed for a couple of hours more sleep.
My first day back in the office and thankfully nothing major to deal with. I did login to the work email a couple of times from Japan, but only to delete / file the chaff, so I was only left with the stuff that needed me to respond or to pay more attention to. I am not a person to take my work with me on holiday so my mobile was turned off and left in the UK.
At lunchtime I headed out for a 6 mile run around the Isle of Dogs. It was pouring with rain all morning and I was considering delaying my run but the clouds broke just before 11am and it was a rain free run.
The Son was fast asleep on his bed when I got home and he was still dressed in his school uniform so must have just crashed when he got back. He’d fallen asleep with his headphones over his ears so I carefully removed them and pulled a blanket over him so he didn’t get too cold.
Tomorrow morning I have the joy of dealing with a puncture on my car so I’ll be outside early to change the tyre and possibly getting a new tyre fitted after dropping The Son off at school.
