Day 2 of my running week and THE PLAN called for 8 miles total with 8 hill repeats. Mrs Dan had a work dinner meeting planned so I was home early to get some food in front of The Son and was then out on my run.
I ran the same session 2 weeks back and found that I struggled after the hill reps because I was tired but still had several miles to complete. This time round I ran a couple of extra miles on the way to the hill so the 2 miles home afterwards could be the warm down.
My legs felt heavier this time and I was sure that the hill reps were slower but I compared my overall time to find that I was 1 minute faster this week. That’s not an exact comparison, since it includes the miles before and after the hill work, but it was pleasing to see that I was a tiny bit faster.
