The weekly long run called for 13 miles, which made things easy this week as I could just run a couple of miles to join the Eagles Sunday long run (8 mile route this week) and then add some more miles at the end to make the magic 13.
Our band of intrepid runners decided that the 10 mile route would be a preferable option, which I liked because it meant fewer miles to add-on my own at the end and the 8 mile route includes a muddy trail by the river.
On the run I laid down the jinx for my running week:
“I haven’t had a cold for months. All this regular exercise is really keeping my fit & healthy.”
Could I have said anything more stupid? Well…. probably but that is pretty foolish. I am late posting this one thanks to a cold that hit the next day and has kept me home resting. Thankfully I am 3 weeks ahead of my marathon training schedule, so I’ll just take most of the week out and repeat the last few runs from last week before starting next week with what should have been my runs for this week, and Jantastic allows a joker so I can still record 100%.
I was meant to run 13 miles but ended up running over 14 miles. That’s because I am a doofus who somehow confused 13 miles and 23km. I know that a half marathon is 21km but I became fixated with the number 3 and ran 23km in error.
