My first proper run for two weeks and my legs felt like lead as I struggled around Gunnersbury Park. This was not the return to glory that I envisioned but at least I have broken into the final stretch and my 50th parkrun is now in sight.

Thankfully my friend Dan was back to Gunnersbury as well this week so we retired to the café together and compared stories of bad runs and races.

My mood was lifted as a fly bumbled its way to smack into my forehead and land in the centre of my hot chocolate, where it met a wet but tasty demise*.

* Not tasty for me I might add. Tasty for the fly. I quickly disposed of my drink.
