Sadly we had no parkrun last week as we were attending a wedding in north Wales and can you believe that there is no parkrun in the immediate area? The nearest were Hanley (45 miles / 1 hour 11 mins away) or Princes (49.3 miles / 1 hour 11 mins away) and I received some frosty glares from the immediate family when I suggested that it was perfectly reasonable for me to make a 2 hour parkrun round trip on the morning of the wedding.
This week we were back to Gunnersbury and with a cool day The Son was intent on challenging his PB so I let him run off on his own race and kept a comfortable distance behind just to keep an eye on him. I started to reel him in as he approached the 2.5k point as he was starting to struggle a bit so I then accompanied for the final run, with a few walks, to the finish line. No new PB for him this week but he was only a few seconds away from breaking 30 minutes again.

so jealous of the parkrun concept!
I have to admit that we’re spoiled having parkrun every Saturday!
