Janathon 2012 – Day 30: road rage, work, rest, and no play.
The penultimate day of Janathon 2012 and it’s a scheduled rest day for me on my running plan. I was up a bit earlier this morning so squeezed in some karate practice before dropping the family off at their daily destinations.
I did experience some bizarre road rage on the way back as a car pulled out of a T junction directly into my path, which caused me to slam on the breaks and skid to a halt a foot or so before ramming directly into their side. The driver then lent across to look at me and I thought she was going to give a wave of apology so we could both smile and get on with our day after a near miss. However, she gave me the finger and proceeded to scream and shout before driving off still waving various fingers at me through the rear window. I am just thankful that I was able to stop in time and not have to deal with an insurance claim.
