Janathon 2012 – Day 14: weekend is here, The Son returns to karate, and New Year party.
It’s nice to have a weekend to get ourselves firmly back onto UK time and to deal with all the wonderful household tasks that we have been neglecting. I dropped Mrs Dan off at her exercise class in the morning before taking The Son along to karate training with me. We both used to attend training at least three times a week, including every Saturday morning, but that changed when The Son started to attend Japanese school on a Saturday morning. With a heavy schedule only getting busier through 11+ preparation we have taken the decision to put a halt to Japanese school as the amount of homework was getting too much to deal with.
The Son seemed to have forgotten all the karate kata he previously learnt but he was welcomed back by the instructors with a few comments on just how tall he is now. I sometimes forget that it has been over 4 years since we both attended our first Sunday session with no idea what was going on. The class went well today and The Son did not have too hard a time and even said he enjoyed being back.
Tonight The Son is being looked after by The Grandma as I will be taking Mrs Dan to her company New Year Party is central London. I will drive so no drinking for me but I am already looking forward to the food and the opportunity to win a nice prize in the raffle.
