Janathon 2012 – Day 1

Ringing in the New Year Janathon Style

A slow and steady start to Janathon 2012 as I hit the “do some form of exercise” squarely in the ‘some form’ bracket. I am in Japan for the first week of January and New Year is the main family gathering period, much like Christmas Day would be for us back in the UK. It is customary to visit a shrine on New Years Day so I sneaked a little exercise into the visit through some vigorous swinging of a log to ring in the New Year (and of course it helps that it’s fun to make a loud noise without anyone complaining!).

I followed this up in the evening with a brief walk to the nearby beach with Mrs Dan and I hope to schedule a few runs over the next few days as visiting family start to head back home and I get a bit more free time.
